We have curated a special selection of wines from our cellar exclusively for our wine club members.
Our Estate wines are crafted from 100% estate grown fruit and are made on site in our winery. These elegant cool-climate varietal-focused wines are a reflection of our unique vineyard, surrounded by native flora and laden with deep mineral-rich red volcanic soils. Each release embodies the notion of terroir, painting a picture of our secluded corner of the Upper Yarra Valley with a stamp in time.
The 2018 season unfolded in two distinct halves. Winter and spring were cool, with generous rainfall and strong soil moisture reserves. Vines showed healthy early growth and developed robust canopies, setting higher-than-average crop levels heading into summer.
Summer brought a dramatic shift—warm, dry conditions with above-average temperatures and below-average rainfall persisted through mid-January and February. The heat accelerated ripening, with varieties maturing rapidly and in close succession, resulting in a compressed harvest.
Fruit was handpicked early in the morning into small buckets, with bunch selection done in the vineyard. 80% de-stemmed into an open fermenter with 20% whole bunches, then chilled for a four-day cold soak before fermentation. Fermentation was wild with daily hand plunging. The wine was pressed off skins directly to seasoned (no new) French oak barrels (300L and 500L) for maturation. The final wine was gently racked and bottled without fining or filtration.
Notes from July 2025 tasting.
An iridescent purple colour pours into the glass. The aromatics are immediately complex with blood orange, cherry liquor and cacao nibs checking in. The fruit is there, but in its very demure cool-climate style; subtlety is this wine’s mantra.
The palate walks the same elegant path as the nose, yet it is clearly confident. Assured. Plum, spice and gentle hints of crème de cassis lay a foundation, framed by pixelated tannins and length that continues well after the glass returns to the table. A majestic wine still with years ahead.
95 points, Halliday Wine Companion 2021
"Bright colour; juicy mouthfeel with red cherries/berries dominant; savoury nuances in the shadows of the finish. Lovely wine."
James Halliday, June 2021
