We have curated a special selection of wines from our cellar exclusively for our wine club members.
Our Estate wines are crafted from 100% estate grown fruit and are made on site in our winery. These elegant cool-climate varietal-focused wines are a reflection of our unique vineyard, surrounded by native flora and laden with deep mineral-rich red volcanic soils. Each release embodies the notion of terroir, painting a picture of our secluded corner of the Upper Yarra Valley with a stamp in time.
A short, compressed vintage. Despite the dry season and rapid ripening, the resulting wines showed surprising balance, lifted fruit, and fine tannins—more elegant than originally expected.
The growing season began dry, with October the warmest on record and many days above 25°C. Fine weather led to early and fast flowering, setting strong crops across all varieties. Warm conditions continued, allowing healthy canopy growth through to the New Year. In early February, 45mm of rain was followed by eight consecutive days above 30°C.
Fruit was handpicked early in the morning into small buckets, with bunch selection done in the vineyard. 80% de-stemmed into an open fermenter with 20% whole bunches, then chilled for a four-day cold soak before fermentation. Fermentation was wild with daily hand plunging. The wine was pressed off skins directly to seasoned (no new) French oak barrels (300L and 500L) for maturation. The final wine was gently racked and bottled without fining or filtration.
Notes from July 2025 tasting.
Ruby red with juicy dark red fruit aromas; cherries, plums and late-summer raspberries. Following closely, notes of dark chocolate, blackberries, toffee and cedar all bustle together before detections white pepper and olives come to the fore. Layer after layer it slowly awakens in the glass, being amazingly full and everchanging.
The palate is bold, powerful and intriguing, with soft tannins, length and concentration. Umami flavours meld with berry-coulis and call for return after each visit.
96 points, Halliday Wine Companion 2021
"An extremely expressive bouquet with black cherry, spice, pepper and French oak (despite none new) all clamouring for attention. The medium-bodied palate also throws in a stick of black licorice and educated tannins to the hotpot of delicious cool climate shiraz."
